WE ARE 21
Discounting the covid years, we have been successfully teaching as a school for 21 years with incredible success. Our passionate hope is that we (may) help to create some of the next generation of designer jewellers and silversmiths, and at the very least provide an oasis of peace for those struggling.

Classes
York School of Jewellery and Silversmithing provides day, evening and weekend classes in jewellery making, silversmithing and design. There are a maximum of 8 jewellery students and 5 silversmithing students per class. Within this framework we can safely work on a one-to-one basis, enabling each student to pursue their own goals at their own pace.
Those that are new to jewellery making and silversmithing (who are always very welcome) are taught the basic but essential skills including measuring, marking, piercing, filing, hammering and soldering.
The more experienced students are actively encouraged to develop their design and making skills. Classes at this level are student led.
Finding the right class
If you are looking at this web site you are probably looking for jewellery or silversmithing classes either with York School of Jewellery and Silversmithing, or elsewhere. We suggest you take a few moments to look at our gallery of students work before reading any further. Why? Because no matter what is written either here or elsewhere, it is the quality of work produced that matters. Please note that all work in our galleries has been made by our students. Most students attend one class per week of two hours duration.
